As usual, a very good observation by Dr. Trueman. He also hits it on the head here: "how much money is spent in this world on items that do things we don't really need done but whose acquisition makes us feel cool, better about ourselves, superior to those around us, or inadequate if we don't possess them?"
I would certainly hope that, as God's people, we can find peace in the stillness and enjoy communion with Him, not requiring continual "noise" or distraction from real contemplation.
It would seem that (in the KJV style) - of the making of many electronic devices there is no end, and much texting is a weariness...
