The Lord Jesus said, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's" (Matthew 22:21). He was saying, "Pay your taxes and live under the authority of God-appointed governing powers" (Titus 3:1). By extension, I take this to mean that we ought to vote. This is a great privilege for us as American citizens. So vote, but guard your heart against banking your hope on election results. Participate in the election process, yes, but do not put your hope in that which is temporal, "for the present form of this world is passing away" (1 Cor. 7:31). Rather, hope in God! (Psalm 39:7)
And pursue righteousness as you vote (1 Tim. 6:11). I will not endorse candidates for you, but I strongly urge you to not vote for any one who is pro-abortion. The fact that infanticidal elimination of hundreds of thousands of babies is legally practiced in our nation is a vicious, grievous, wholly unrighteous, despicable affront to God! Sounds like I'm a single issue voter, doesn't it? So be it. I am amazed that God so patiently withholds judgment on us.
